Ex Bonfire
Joerg "JD" Deisinger's book is out now
|
 |
| Three years in the making, former
bassist for German rock legends Bonfire Joerg Deisinger and key
writer for the internationally renowned Canadian metal magazine BW&BK
Carl Begai have issued a new book entitled Fire And Fame.
The book features Joerg's memoirs
translated by Carl as its foundation, tracing his career as a
professional musician from his early days as a starstruck AC/DC fan
that wanted nothing more than to be on stage, through Bonfire's
formative years and runaway success in Europe that included major
tours with ZZ Top and Judas Priest, to his eventual departure from
the band in the early '90s.
As a whole, however, Fire And Fame
is genuine behind-the-scenes look at the music scene, telling the
story of a kid from a small town with the seemingly impossible dream
of becoming a rock star actually managed to pull it off. It's a book
for anyone who has ever had a similar dream, for those who have
lived it, and for those who continue to do so.
Ritchie also is featured is the last capitel when JD worked for
Ritchie's company Rino Entertainment as Ritchie's promoter in 2004.
Thanks Joerg to let me be part in your wonderfull journey.

In memory of
Elvis Ballard
|
 |
| Sadly, ritchie's good friend
Elvis Ballard, Asia's top Elvis impersonator, who for many years
performed in ritchie's Elvis Pub in Pattaya and as the resident
Elvis at the Jomtien Boathouse and Captain's Corner, passed away
from cancer at noon on 19th July.
Jomtien boathouse / Captain's Corner
are sponsoring the funeral rites at Wat Chai Mongkolsala 2 in South
Pattaya on Wednesday 23rd July at 7pm.
Cremation is on 24th July at 3:30
pm.
Elvis Ballard was cheerful up to the very last moment of his life.
His main concern was for his wife and 11 year old daughter he would
leave behind.
We are now working on a memorial tribute concert for Elvis Ballard
at Jomtien Boathouse. The concert scheduled for August 6th.
Several artists have pledged to perform, including the Ritchie
Newton Elvis Show, Rick and Harpic among others.
All proceeds will go towards Elvis Ballard's daughter's education.
In addition, a Website will be set up to accept donations for this
purpose.
Donations can of cause also be given at either Jomtien Boathouse or
Captains Corner.

A Message from Ritchie
2007
proved to be a very successful year for Ritchie and Rino Entertainment. The
addition of new talent into his agency was mirrored by the addition of new
clients. This growth is accented by the opening of two new offices in southern
Thailand. This growth is possible in part due to the alliance with ThaiAm
Entertainment. This cooperative working relationship has been more successful
than anyone thought possible. This success is the beginning of a long term
relationship. None of this success would be possible without the tremendous
support Ritchie receives from his legends of fans. Ritchie and his family
extends a personal wish for a safe and happy holiday as well as a prosperous new
year for each and every fan.
Success in Korat
The
Ritchie Newton’s ELVIS Show took Korat by storm as it performed for 10
consecutive days during the Southeast Asian Games, December 6-15. This was the
first ever Elvis show in Korat hosted by Chez Andy’s Restaurant. Ritchie extends
a heartfelt thanks to Chez Andy and his superb staff for a job well done.
Ritchie will return to Korat at the end of April 2008 performing once again at
Chez Andy’s during the Cobra Gold War Games, a joint training exercise with the
US and Thai military.

Ritchie expands Rino
Entertainment
2007 was
a year of growth and expansion for Rino Entertainment as Ritchie opens new
offices in Krabi and Korat provinces Thailand. Both Krabi and Korat provinces
are in great need for quality entertainment. The demand has been so great
opening the new offices was a must. Both provinces are developing at a
tremendous rate, and outlets for Rino Entertainment were the only real option to
provide quality entertainment at competitive prices. With these latest
expansions Rino Entertainment now has offices in five (5) provinces of Thailand.
Rino Entertainment is now represented in Suratthani (Samui), Phuket, Chonburi (Pattaya),
Krabi & Korat.

10 years on and still
going strong

On the 17th
April Ritchie Newton celebrated 10years of performing his unique Elvis Tribute
Shows at the Art Palace hotel on Koh Samui.
It was a
night to remember not just for the spectacular performance of Richie but for
loyal fans and friends to re-unite and enjoy the electric atmosphere.
The
evening started with Li’l Willy and the Hepcat Trio playing easy Blues while the
guests finished dining. An hour later guests they were up and dancing ready to
party.
Ritchie
then took the stage by storm and from his opening number the audience was
spellbound and sang along with the undisputed king of Koh Samui.
 |
Surely the highlight of the evening occurred when Li’l Willy himself joined
Ritchie with his fantastic harmonica sound on Steamroller Blues.
